Earlier if someone would ask this question to me , I was like that it is impossible. But now pandemic has changed a lot of things. IT jobs can be managed from towns. I am not saying that it is easy to work in towns but it is possible now. We are in fact liking settling in the town. I mean who will not like watching the beautiful sunsets and sunrises among those green farms in a clear sky. I know your next question will be like where you will hang out. Yes I am coming slowly to all those questions. Let’s start exploring.
Glamorous City Life
Being born in a town, I am fond of living in cities. You always attract the opposite. I liked watching those huge buildings with the metro passing by.I used to work near Cyber hub, Gurgaon. I know you will be like wow. There are beautiful cafes and bars all around and the vibe of the place is excellent.Yes, all our parties were organized there. Working there was a memorable experience for me.
While in US except the large size of buildings, everything else was there. Moreover, due to living in Delhi for almost three years and in US for two years, I had become habitual of the city perks. No power cuts, high speed internet, movie theaters nearby , malls to shop , weekend events etc. all these things you will surely miss in a town. I am a person who enjoy crowd as much as I like nature. If you want both these things in the same place, foreign countries should be the choice. But in India, these two do not co-exist.
And while living in the city, you get addicted to the facilities. I used to enjoy the time when Uber and Ola was in our reach. There were so many places to eat around and there were so many friends to hang out with. I remember when going out for a grocery was an exciting task to do. And going for movies was also a thing. When there was a night life with lighted restaurants and pubs to enjoy.
But I had this thought in my mind while living in Delhi that if the whole north India young generation will be populating Delhi each year , how difficult would be the future. We were planning too to settle in Delhi after coming from US. But this pandemic has provided us with options. With so many people working from home, Delhi will have some air to breathe now.
To settle in a town ,it was difficult in the starting..Even when going to US, I would say it was difficult to come out of my normal. But slowly you start enjoying your lifestyle.
Peaceful Town

Yes, I would say I am slowly learning to enjoy my stay in a town in Punjab. First of all, I am enjoying eating everything fresh. Yes, the veggies are all fresh from farms. Secondly the milk is pure. Then we have a pollution free environment. Walking through the green farms is usual now. And the sunsets are perfect through the clear sky.
I have started knowing gardening. We like peace all around, there is no hustle. There is Jalandhar in a 30 mins drive to experience some city perks. Moreover, our parrot at home never leave a moment to uplift our mood. Our parents are close to us and we can help in managing their tasks. You get to enjoy free buffets yes “Indian marriages” lol.
On one side there is pollution while on the other side there is a beautiful sky full of stars to watch, this is the question in our minds. Just like while living in the city, you crave for natural places on the weekend. Here you crave for malls and other entertainment, but these cravings are not very frequent.
If we talk about internet issues, there was a big problem in the starting, now there is a startup in our place which provides good Wi-Fi.Netflix works good even. There are no more rents to be paid every month and your savings increase due to less expenditure. More savings mean you can travel more. You know that I love travel.
Since I have left my job and there are less places to visit. I do not feel the need to dress up, especially in these winters. I prefer not to groom nowadays. This is a minus for sure. But this has become a lifestyle now.
