This is my favorite question I love to ask when I meet people that inspire me. Managing things at home or work needs a lot of planning and doing both at the same time is exhausting. I believe you. I am always trying to but some days I am like I do not want to do anything, and these some days constitute 30%. It is a big percentage but the other 70% is quite productive. You can analyze it by yourself too. And this 30% is quite important for the 70% productivity.
Manage home with work in India
Spent 6 months in adjusting
Sorry that again I have started storytelling. I know that it can be the first time that you are reading my blogs. So, I left my corporate job after marriage and started living in the US with my husband. There I learned to cook and somehow learned to manage a home. Then after 2.5 years, I returned to India and learned how to manage my home in India. It was big learning as my mother-in-law was not well at that time.
So, I learned to cook three times a day and that too a proper Indian meal. In the USA, we were like eating oats for breakfast, raw veggies, or sandwiches which are generally easy to make and healthy. But it was not like that I did not learn to cook Indian recipes. My husband used to suggest me specific ingredients that can create a special effect in any dish. So, I knew to cook Indian recipes but was not able to manage to make them three times or at least two times a day.
Help of Mother-in-law

But it was the need of the hour. I mean how we can serve those easy-making recipes to our parents when I could not eat them in India. Also, my sister-in-law knew how mother cooks here in my in-laws. We used to prepare food together and then mother also used to help us. So, after a few months, I was trained kind of. I started knowing before that what can be made for breakfast today and what for lunch. It was a big achievement of my life as I used to wonder if I would be able to do it ever. But time and necessity teach you everything. I learned how to manage the cleaning in the house, two-time utensils, and washing of clothes along with cooking in a single day.
The routine
So, when I started my job after 6 months of this training, I was able to manage all these along with my job but not without the help of my mother-in-law. She recovered at that time. We were a team. Firstly, waking up early is important, my job used to start at 11, so it was 7 am for me. Then if I was preparing breakfast, mother used to work on lunch and vice-versa. So, we managed to complete cooking and serving breakfast, utensils, and lunch before 11.
Sometimes it was done at 10 also then I have the time to bath, relax and get ready. And then mother enjoys her knitting and gardening and me my work. Then she used to make chapatis for the lunch. I used to do any utensils or prepare tea in my breaks. Then after getting free at 8 pm, me and mother used to prepare dinner if we were having any. And after 8.30, I enjoy my free time like Netflix or walking. This is how I learn to manage work with home in India
Blogging
All these household duties are a kind of relaxation when you are working from home as it helps you to remain away from the phone screen. I avoid the gym at these times because it can be hectic, and I used to go for short walks on the terrace during my office hours. So, this is how I managed to work with a home in India only because of my mother-in-law. I used to write blogs also at that time on the weekends and publish them on the same weekend only. So yes it was a big task and when I was not in the mood of writing, I used to skip writing. You must have seen that there were fewer blogs that time. But now I am trying to adopt a new approach and let’s see how it works.
Now let’s flip the coin and manage work with home in Germany
It is been 4 months since we have shifted to Germany. So yes, I have recently started working here along with managing the home. I would like to tell you about my daily routine. I try to wake up at least at 7 am and first post on Instagram. Lol. Because I am not sure if I would be able to post it the whole day. It mostly takes half an hour and sometimes a whole hour. Then at 8, I drink water and then start preparing breakfast. It is usually an omelet and some veggies or oats. If you have kept the options limited, you will see you will avoid wasting time thinking about what to cook. Then at 8.30, I started becoming ready for the job and I just log in at 9 am sharp.
Work from home benefits
In my breaks, I manage the tasks that I was not able to do earlier, sometimes it is a bath also. Then I just made chapatis along with the Indian sabzi(vegetable) that I prepared the last evening. When I have already the content to post on Instagram, then I cook this sabzi during the 7-8 am interval. Sometimes if I have time, I manage to cook pulao, poha, or any short recipe as well. This is all possible because of work from home. The breaks where we used to laugh or gossip with colleagues are now converted to household activities.
Help of husband
He also prepares tea or coffee or some snacks in his breaks. The problem with men is that they do not understand by themselves that they need to help then. But he said that you need to ask me whenever you need help. So I do not hesitate to ask for help. They are becoming more helping and breaking the patriarchy. So let’s contribute to it. A lot of problems happen because we women think that why they cannot understand the responsibilities themselves.
This is good for health because we are eating freshly cooked food and at the same time there is me time after the office hours left. Then as the lunch is done which we do mostly in the evening. We avoid eating at night because it is sufficient especially in these sitting jobs. Then we have a chai at 6 pm along with some snacks and we watch TV or go for a walk.
I have kept two days in the week itself for blogging. So at 8 or 9 pm, I write an article/week or spend time on blogging two days a week in total. One day is for writing and another is for editing and publishing. Sometimes it extends depending on the content. Because it is a me-time for me. And I do not follow a single thing of this routine on weekends. They are completely relaxing. And this is how I can manage home with work in Germany. I now believe concentrating on one thing at a time is the goal.
Also, write me back in the comments or mail me your thoughts about this managing home with work thing. I would love to read them.

I truly appreciate this post. I have been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You’ve made my day! Thanks again
Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
I am impressed with this web site, really I am a fan.
I like this internet site because so much utile stuff on here : D.
Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked while people consider worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
